With a high aptitude and a strong musical ear, it is possible to be a great musician or composer without ever learning to read or write music. However, the ability to read and write music opens up a world of possibilities in expressing your musical ideas and communicating with others.
Luckily learning the basics of music NOTATION (the written form of music) is easy.
In basic terms, music notation shows three things:
1.) The length of the sound to be played.
2.) The pitch of the sound to be played.
3.) How to interpret the sound (volume, emphasis, style)
